newbie here; i’d like some recommendations from some of the more seasoned folks on what is a good broker/dealer to go with? I am only looking to demo trade as of now but i would like to easily transition to live as and when i’m ready with the same broker. Who are the more popular players here? I am based in the UK, so i guess i’d need a UK based firm??? or does that not matter?
Also, apart from going through the training material here online, I’d like to get my hands on a good book to read on FX markets, trading, etc. Would prefer a physical book rather than anything electronic. I’m looking for something that covers beginner - intermediate+, something that goes through and explains fundamental well as well as what type of trends are out there, indicators and technical analysis. I’m trying to avoid books that mention crap like “we have the winning strategy” or “join this blog to find out more” or “guaranteed profits using this method” - as they are all pooh and they don’t exist.
If you avoid the crap, the sounds to good to be true, anything that says, secret, first time, etc and keep posting with details, you won’t be the resident terrible trader for long. :60: I’m not a reader more electronic, but you’ll get some good suggestions from other members who are readers. As far as a broker, if it were me, I would pick one that’s regulated, who offers non dealing desk (not sure how true the reasoning behind it is true, but reading it made me feel good when I read it)
and 24/7 support and live chat. Shouldn’t have any problems in UK.
Good Luck
I wouldn’t even worry about the dealing desk/no dealing desk conundrum. A dealing desk may be the other party to your trade whereas a no dealing desk just bundles the trades it gets and offers them to their liquidity providers and has no conflict of interest or even a vested interest. I can’t imagine that small accounts are of too much interest to brokers. If you are moving millions? Well, then they may become interested in your specific trades if it can be advantageous to them.
Thanks for the input. Yep, I’ve seen many a “sure-fire-get-rich” strategy to know what a load of bollocks they are.
I just need some book reading material as for the next month or so I won’t have a lot of access to my computer so would rather have the ability to pick up and read a book when I can…
I’ll be honest, I don’t know enough about the whole non dealing/dealing desk malarky to know why ones so much better than the other but from what I have read(very brief!), non dealing desk seems the better option… but your point definitely makes sense… now I just need some recommendations on some good brokers!
