I’ve decided to learn MQL4 in an effort to automate my own strategies and eliminate emotion from my trading, so I’ll be using this thread to post my efforts, along with a myfxbook for each EA regardless of how simple, each on separate demo accounts.

I’m doing this thread mostly for my own benefit, but if people can find some usefulness then thats a bonus. I also realise that this isn’t at all a trade journal, so if this is an inappropriate spot for the thread feel free to move it moderators :smiley:

I’ll try to keep this post updated with links to each completed EA and it’s myfxbook, but we’ll see how long that lasts shall we…

Ok, first up, as a quick little test to get started with MQL4 will be basically completely random. It will open a position, with an equal take profit and stop loss, and when that position gets closed by either the take profit or the stop loss, it will open another position. The positions will be completely random between short and long, and hopefully it won’t be too much trouble to make it size positions according to a percentage of equity or balance.
