Does anybody actually spread bet on this site at all? I’m really interested in finding a group that does
Hi Alex,
I am currently using it now. Can you tell me how I change the default charts that set up when I open Alpari??
IE - When I open the Alpari MT4 client, it opens Eur/Usd - Gbp/Usd - Usd/Chf - Usd/Jpy as default. I would like to keep the Eur/Usd & Gbp/Usd and maybe add some others?
Look forward to your feedback.
Also, once I have added my S&R lines, sometimes when moving the charts, it moves the S&R lines. Is there any way to have the lines stuck down so they can only be moved deliberately as opposed to accidentally?
Thanks,
Tom
Hi Tom,
These are good questions.
Open the charts of the currency pairs that you like to trade. When you close and reopen MT4, the platform will display the charts that were open when you last closed it.
By saving a template with the name Default (Default.tpl or default.tpl), every time you open a new chart, MT4 will automatically use the template named “Default.” To do this, create your preferred chart (e.g. color, indicators, etc.), then right click the chart and scroll down to “Template,” then “Save Template.” The Save As box should come up. Save the template as Default.
However, if you are running Windows Vista or Windows 7 this may not work. This is because Windows Vista & Windows 7’s default security settings prevent MetaTrader from saving all necessary information to the hard drive. To fix this, change the folder permission of the folder where MetaTrader is installed.
• Right click on the MetaTrader4 icon that you have on your desktop
• Select ‘Properties’
• Select the ‘Shortcut’ tab
• Click on ‘Advanced’
• Tick ‘Run as an administrator’

Hi Alex,
With regards to the open charts, it’s the USD/CHF & USD/JPY that always open as default, the rest are OK and perform how I want them. Is there somewhere they are set as default?
Thanks for the information on the S&R lines, I’ll give that try.
Thanks,
Tom
Hi Tom,
Happy to help.
• Select ‘Tools’
• Click on ‘Options’
• Select the ‘Charts’ tab
• Tick ‘Save deleted charts to reopen’

Thanks Alex.
If you place a bet with Aplari on currency pairs that you want to run for a few days/weeks, are the positions closed overnight then restarted, or are there rollover/swap fees like in forex? Also are there automatic stops placed on trades like some SB firms? many thanks
Hi asd99,
Good question.
Please click here to see our rollover/interest policy.
Are you referring to stop-outs?

Thanks Alex, so the rollover/interest is similar to standard forex accounts. About the stop losses, some companies won’t let you place a bet without a stop loss, for example this is capital spreads policy-
"At Capital Spreads we want to help minimize the risks of trading. That’s why every trade has a stop loss automatically applied to it, giving you protection if prices move against you. "
Cheers
Hi asd99,
It is not uncommon for firms to automatically place a stop loss on their clients account. However, at Alpari (UK) we put our clients in charge. You are in control of your all the facets of your account at all times. We do not interfere in any way whatsoever. Alpari (UK) provides an execution-only service.

Hi - can you tell me how to change the candles to represent the New York close on Alpari UK Spreadbetting?
TIA
Hi Tia,
Our candles are based on Eastern European Time (EET) or UK time +2. The first candle in the chart starts on Monday at 00:00:00 EET and the last candle closes on Friday at 23: 59:59 EET, which coincidentally does coincide with the NY close time of 17:00 Eastern Standard Time (EST). As long as the time difference between the UK and US is five hours this will be the case.
However, there are a couple of weeks in the year when this is out of sync. This is because of daylight saving time. In the United States, daylight saving time starts on the second Sunday of March and ends on the first Sunday of November. In the United Kingdom, it starts on the last Sunday in March and ends on the last Sunday in October. For 2013, the daylight saving time in the US will start on Sunday, 10 March 2013 and ends on Sunday, 3 November 2013. While in the UK, the daylight saving time will start on Sunday, 31 March 2013 and end on Sunday, 27 October 2013.
