Stop loss slippage

Trading with Oanda.

Should I expect stop loss slippage over the weekend if I am keeping a trade open? I’m aware of the large spreads, and adjust my SL accordingly in order to not trigger it unintentionally. Just want to make sure that if it does get tripped, that Oanda will actually execute on it over the weekend.

yes, everything is possible…
I got a lot lemons in the past due to leave trades open in the weekends , then I change my plan to just close everything friday new york close , and all is better … :smirk:

Just an idea…

I keep trades open over the weekend just for the interest that I get on my account for having it open. Some currencies penalize you, some give you good interest. This is referred to as making money while the market is closed. I only do it with currency pairs that are docile at the end of Friday, never with volatile pairs.

I strongly suggest doing more research on it, I am not sure if Babypips will allow me to give you the website of the people who have full criteria on this subject. Either way, I make very good interest every weekend by having certain trades open for the sake of interest, not trading.

@Ignis_Draco this is interesting… I’m curious to know what pairs you use for interest over the weekend? I’m sure it’s different from broker to broker just curious of the pairs you choose if you don’t mind shairing.

Mostly JPY and USD.

GBP and EUR cost me money over a weekend.

Send your broker an email and ask them about the viability.
