SUGGESTION: Add Sorting Capability of 'Last Thread by' in a Forum

It’s been a while since I have this ITCH how you sequence the threads in a Forum. Your arrangement is already great. But I think we need to add more column where we could sort the threads by their Starting Dates. That way regular visitors could see new threads. You already provide us with the ‘Last Post by’ column. But we visitors also badly need [B]‘Last Thread by’[/B] column. Kindly please add it in all of your forums.

Below is a situation which could give you an idea on how useful that new column is for many of us:

[I]A relatively experienced trader is looking for new systems or new ideas to improve her own system. So, she naturally would go to your Free Forex Trading Systems forum. She’s been there before. She already knows and already gone through the threads of famous systems. However, since she needs new ideas/perspectives, she would need to sort the forum starting from the newest thread to older ones so she–and many others–could see what new systems have been published there. But unfortunately, you don’t have that column up until now. Desperate to fine-tune her system, she looks elsewhere and found it in another forum brand here.[/I]

That little tweak (i.e. adding [B]‘Last Thread by’[/B] column) also helps new threads to gain more exposure and visits from us. Let me know what you think on the suggestion. Really hope you could implement it ASAP.

Thanks for your question. The solution may already be available for you. Try this:

  1. Navigate to the thread index page of your choice. For example, go to Free Forex Trading Systems
  2. Go to the bottom of the page and look for the Thread Display Options section
  3. Using the Sort threads by: drop down box, select Thread Start Time
  4. Click Show threads located in the right side of section
  5. You’re done!

Hopefully that arranges the thread list to your liking. Please let me know if that works for you.

Yeess!! It’s what I need.

Wow, I guess it’s my bad that I couldn’t see the ‘Thread Display Options’ box.
Since it’s a very important tool, you might want to consider reallocating/duplicating the box to [B]the upper area of the forums[/B] also. My eyes are proved that the current placement is not ideal. :wink:
