Hi,
The website is loading super slow since this morning (a few hours before this post).
By super slow i mean snail slowwww… the pages just wont load
It took me over 10 mins to get from the forums to here
I already checked my connection, all other websites are working fine.
PS- since a few hours back i have also been receiving messages like
"you are not allowed to view this page…"
This is followed by a few points of reason why this may be happening.
It disappears when i reload the page tho…
UPDATE:
I am now using a VPN and the site seems to be working fine.
Not as prompt as usual but no more waiting…
Do you think it has something to do with my ISP??
Greetings azzkikr…our resident support guru, Pipstradamus, is out for the week, so I’ll try to help. Are you still having issues? If so, maybe you can let us know your geo location, your ISP and what do you mean when you say you’re using a “VPN?” Thanks!
Thank you pipcrawler,
The issue is now fixed.
My location is India… I kinda guessed it had something to do with either my ISP or my location so i used a VPN (virtual private network) to make it seem like i was accessing the site from somewhere in Europe.
The site worked fine while using the VPN and went back to being slow after I terminated the vpn.
Working fine today
Sounds like a DNS issue and that’s why the problem resolved through VPN. If you have cleared your browser’s temporary files and cookies and adjusted your settings, there may be an issue with the way the network is configured. To correct it, kindly flush and reset the DNS by following the instructions below. You may also need to restart your modem and/or router (sometimes referred to as a power cycle).
In windows 7 & 8:
Navigate to the desktop.
2)Hold down the Windows key and press R. Note: This will open the Run dialogue. Type “cmd” and press Enter.
Note: This will open a command prompt.
Type “ipconfig /flushdns” and press Enter.
Type “ipconfig /registerdns” and press Enter.
6)Type “ipconfig /release” and press Enter.
7)Type “ipconfig /renew” and press Enter.
The issue fixed itself I guess. As far as my knowledge goes, a wrongly configured network would pose problems opening all or most websites but the problem was limited to Babypips. Tried restarting the router… didn’t help. I think you are right about DNS and flushing it would solve issues from my side. But if it’s a DNS server-side issue, then I don’t see how it can be fixed. Using VPN seems to be the easier option though. Because it requires only 3 clicks whereas flushing the DNS config requires a whole lot of time and effort.
