I tried looking it up here and I found this thread from over a decade ago. 
Hahaha. You might want to check it out still since they gave a lot of options. But then again, personally, I’m not sure if it’s necessary to have VPS.
it’s always interesting to see how advice and technologies have evolved over time. And I get your point about VPS; it really depends on the specific needs of a project.
