The Cowabunga System

Rejection off the 15 min resistance has closed this trade for + 0.3 R. For those interested these are the month to date trades for the timezone I can trade, the + 19 fig is the year to date and as you can see there is summary data for 2008

thanks tony i was asking for some result yesterday. thank you again man

hi guys,

i got in at 7.41am and 2.45pm (+1GMT) GBPUSD.

i did not exit the first due to connection problem and when connection restored the a new sell was building so i left it.
the two trades gave me a combine profit of 224 pips.
i was satisfied with the profit so i did not trade this eveningā€™s up trend.

good system.

Hi Trend Rider,

Congrat on your winning. May I know which version of indicator are you using? Cowabunga-any pair or Cowabunga-any pairV2?

I have the signal for the short play but not the following long play

thanks

Hi Max,

I am using the original template posted on the thread. Any addition has no direct bearring on the system. I may have just been trying out one or two things as usual.

PS has not updated his blog again, seems to get more and more erratic. Pity since this was a convincing and complete data set for new traders at one time. For those interested this was yesterdays play. Thats 12 successive winners over the last 2 weeks, the longest such run that I am aware of

I am new to this forum and am anxiously awaiting giving this system a try. Thanks for your input.

Hi all.

My sincere thanks to everyone who has contributed to this forum for the benefit of those who, like myself, are interested in learning more about forex trading.

Hi Guys donā€™t you know why pip surfer took the signal on 3.3.2009? It was right before the news - pending home sales and bernanke speech.

is it just me, or have the last days and weeks not been very good for the system? iā€™ve had good experiences with this system so far, but lately i get stopped out too often.

is it the same with you - or am i just very unlucky to always catch the bad trades and miss the profitable ones?

would be nice to read some opinions. thank you.

Yes, 5 of the last 6 trades have been losers to be at -2.5R for the month so far

tonymand, thanks for your response!

since you seem to be trading the system for a bit longer - do you consider this to be just a usual bad month or signs of a changing market behavior?

best regards

This approach has had only one losing month in over 2 years. I consider it to be a robust and sensible way for a new trader to begin. Incidentally I track it daily but dont trade it. Today 2 losing trades followed by the current open winning trade stop below 4000

You would be out of this now at about 4050, so 2 losses and 1 win tonight

Just my luck, after the trade moved past the 1.3950 level by 25 pips I moved my stop to break even, my stop was then stopped out by 1 pip only to watch the trade turn around for what would have been a 100 pip gain. It has been a horrible month for the Cowabunga System, hopefully some of the losses will be made back next week.

iā€™ve been tracking the system for almost a year now - and i thought, i recognized a change in the markets behavior regarding the profitability of this system. i hope youā€™re right and the system isnā€™t getting ā€œoldā€ā€¦

best regards

No, I posted the up to date performance results a few posts ago. Averaging 8R per month and had a run of 14 successive wins (the longest I can remember) going into this month

This is my current sheet on this method. I can remember only one time as bad as the last week. But of course this is regression to the mean following as it does the best period I can remember

thanks for your list - when was this ā€œone time as bad as the last weekā€, please?
