According to blockchain market analysts at Chainalysis, thieves and fraudsters stole $3.2 billion in various cryptocurrencies last year. But in the first four months of 2022, $2.9 billion worth of crypto has already been stolen.
Only recently hackers stole some 615 million US dollars in Ethereum, mostly. Last I heard, it was North Korean hackers who did it.We’ll probably be seeing even bigger thefts in the future.
Now people are being mugged for their crypto.
More people in crypto = more to steal. Can you imagine people setting up their online banking and accepting that there are no security measures to access the account? Lack of education on how to protect assets costs people.
