Is there any plan to fix the inbuilt Currency Converter without which some of the tools kindly provided by the forum can’t really be used? I ask only because it seems not to have been working for a while, and I was wondering whether to look elsewhere? (If you’ll excuse this comment, it seems to me that some of the members who seek alternatives online may find them elsewhere, possibly - in some cases - with the longer-term effect that their activities here are reduced/curtailed as a result, which seems rather a shame for the forum?). Any idea when this might be fixed, please?
Any response to the question above, please?
Even “We have no plans at all to fix it” would be welcome, at this stage, rather than just a silence, because at least then members would know to look elsewhere. Please excuse my persistence: I’m asking again only because I see you’ve been here and answered another question since this one was posted. Thanks in advance for your kind reply.
I understand that you are waiting for a reply from Pipstradamus.
I’m not Pipstradamus, but maybe I can help you sort this out.
In the Tools section of this website, there are 5 Forex Calculators, all of which are working properly.
So, I’m at a loss to understand the problem you are reporting.
Can you be more specific about the problems you are having?
Hi, Clint … thanks. Yes: when I go to Tools/Forex Calculator/Position Size Calculator (and on some other pages), there’s a little yellow bar across the top of the page which - for quite a long time, now - has said “The Currency Converter is temporarily offline while we make some changes.”
You’re right, Lexy. I’ve never noticed that banner, and I have to admit that I don’t even know what the “Currency Converter” is — and I’m not exactly a newcomer to this forum.
Anyway, all 5 of the Forex Calculators work, so I’m still not clear about which tools you were referring to in your original post.
Thanks very much, Clint. Quite possibly I misunderstood, by interpreting the yellow banner on some of their pages announcing that the Currency Converter isn’t working as a “warning”/“apology”. I don’t quite know what it means, then, or why it’s there. But thank you for helpful intervention: I’ll investigate further by testing (which is perhaps what I ought to have done in the first place!).
Hello lexys,
Thanks for the question and concern regarding the currency converter. And yes, we did have one for quite a long time, many years in fact. We’ve taken it down recently and are hoping to get it back up and running soon. There are some things that need fixing on the back end - read that as programming - but we’re definitely bringing it back. In the mean time, head over to Yahoo Finance to use their converter.

Thanks for your patience while we get this fixed.
