“The New Gann Swing Chartist”

Over on the “You see this…” thread I may have opened a can of worms by mentioning a PDF titled “The New Gann Swing Chartist”. I don’t want to hijack skajake’s thread so I opened this one to respond to one or two of the comments posted there and hopefully help others following it too

Here’s my understanding of “The New Gann Swing Chartist” method. It covers only three items, how to measure/gage a swing change, how to measure/gage a trend change, and where to place stops. “The New Gann Swing Chartist” method should not be confused with or discounted because of Gann’s “OTHER” controversial work.

W D Gann wrote volumes on trading theory. A lot about forecasting the future price of stocks & commodities using angles, time cycles, “the law of vibration”, etc. There’s been a lot of controversy about these methods and you might be hard pressed to find any evidence to support his forecasting theories.

In his books & training courses he also discussed methods used for plotting trends, swings, and setting stops, pretty standard methods. In this part of Gann’s work you’ll find truckloads of evidence supporting it.

Robert Krauz thought it was “simple, yet brilliant”. So based on Gann’s trend, swing, and setting stop methods, Robert Krauz wrote and introduced “The New Gann Swing Chartist”. There is a free PDF available online at Robert Krauz’s “Fibonacci Trader Journal”. “The New Gann Swing Chartist” information is mixed in with some of Robert Krauz’s other methods, ie “Dynamic Fib Channels” so try not to confuse the methods.

thanks
