I am new to these forums, from the UK. A bit of background about me:
I dabbled in stock trading a number of years ago as a young naive silly boy… needless to say i got burnt, lost about 60% of my initial investment, started to relax and compose myself, made a bit of money back but then decided to call the game quits as it was not the right time in my life for it.
I always wanted to get back into trading at some later point in life and, even though i got burnt, i think i learnt a hell of a lot and to be honest I’m glad i experienced it. I’ve come now, to a point in my life, where i am looking to try my hand at stock trading once more. However, I’ve read and heard things about FX trading from here and there and it had me intrigued…
I’ve decided to try my hand at FX trading now. Yes, i am a complete novice but i am hoping some of my experience from stock trading can come in handy here also. First step, I’m looking to go through the learning material here on this site but i would really like some suggestions from people about any good books i should buy? i need something i can read away from an electronic screen. What do some of you seasoned folks recommend???
There’s a ton of reading and learning for me t get through not to mention playing around with demo accounts… wish me luck.
Hey there! Welcome to our BabyPips.com community. I gotta say, your username got my attention, haha. Well, I think we’ve all been at that point where we’ve traded a bit recklessly and without much training. I think that kind of experience will help remind you to manage your risk better to avoid losing much of your account again, huh? I hope you have a good time in our School of Pipsology and if you’re looking for books to supplement your learning, I suggest looking at trading psychology since that definitely helps with motivation. My personal favorites are The Daily Trading Coach and One Good Trade. Good luck!
hey HappyPip! thanks for the welcome and thanks for the book suggestions, I’ll defo look into them. Sounds interesting. What about any books on actual fundamentals and technical analysis?
