Tips and tricks to waking up and staying awake

If anyone is like myself, I am use to working a physically active job. I’m also not naturally a morning person. Can some of you share tips and tricks to waking up early and being able to stay woke and energized for the trading shift. Thanks.

Can’t be on top form continuously - so - any chance of using strong coffee to get a really good focus for half an hour at a time, then rest in between?

Good morning,
I do enjoy coffee I also try to go to bed early. Thank you for your response. Maybe I’ll try adding some expresso

What seems to be the problem? Waking up, or staying awake?

Or is the problem getting to bed at a good time?

Do you get enough sleep?

Coffee is unfortunately my drug of choice. The only problem is it keeps you in a vicious cycle. I’m trying to reduce my caffeine intake but it’s hard to do when you’re in constant need of that jolt of energy to keep you going… especially in the mornings!

I get tired easily I think especially when sitting and analyzing a computer

Sitting for how long? How about working in sets? Work for 30 minutes, then walk around or do something else for 10 minutes?

You could arrange it however you like, and then after doing that for two hours, you take a 30 minute break.

Could this be worth a try?

Also, I snack while working. I used to eat candy, but I switched to healthier snacks. My favorite is mango slices haha

How about music? Do you play any music while trading?

Check out this music thread

Not the sleepy type lucky If i get a hour

The first thing I will suggest is to always get enough rest, so you can be actively awake when you want to, and of course the use of an alarm.

If I only needed an hour of sleep, I could be waaay more productive!

Life too short to sleep

sleep early if possible. Otherwise caffein probably the key to stay up and energy for your trading section.

I like to have porn on one monitor, Ninja on two monitors, and a browser on the fourth. Helps me think like some say music helps.

If I start watching “anything else…” while I should be analysing charts, my train of thought ends up in another station.

lol, life is too short to cause damages to the brain due to lack of sleep. Yesterday I did not sleep all through the night because of a trade I was monitoring, and I felt the effect today.

This is a good post lots of enthusiasm for trading

Sometimes I wish that I didn’t sleep for England.

Trading does get in the way, especially as Dax is my best instrument. However, Nasdaq is my second best and this allows me 12hrs sleeping practice.

If you had dreams like I have you would consider time not spent sleeping as time wasted.
