Hello, I’m a user of MT5 and I understand most traders hate it because it’s harder to code indicators or EA than MT4, but I like it.
Now I have been looking for a guide online to teach me MT5 coding but I can’t find any, only limited examples and no much explanation for programming newbies like.
If anyone know of a good source or maybe a book I would appreciate it.
Thanks.
No problem. Try Amazon for “Expert Adviser Programming for MetaTrader 5” by Andrew R Young. Book is about $39.00 but all the code and examples are downloadable from their web site.
I have no connections to this book, but learnt to write EA’s from his MT4 book.
I like the structure of his EA design as all the functions for buying, trailing or closing trades are in a separate folder so there is less code to write, as you just call the functions you need when you need them.
