Most beginners don’t really want to learn how to trade, they want to be taught. Trading is a solitary occupation, that will require you to learn through all your trading career. So if you are unable to start from learning, how are you going to keep up with it? Don’t look for “mentors”. The only mentors you need are your own common sense and all the info you can get.
I guess not everyone is smart enough to figure it all out by themselves. Like me. The puzzle was too hard to make myself. I’m very happy with my mentor. I don’t speak to him that often anymore and i am figuring things out myself daily. Knowing he is there if i need him is very comforting.
Like @Katja070 have said, not everyone would be like everyone., being able to figure it out for themselves. Some needs a teacher (mentor) to guide them through and this right here:
is the true learning. It doesn’t end with our teachers/mentors, there’s need for consistent update.
I’m lucky to have figured the ABCs all out myself but it comes with its cost.
I feel minimal cost comes with mentor.
Apparently, I agree with your context there, anyone ready to trade the market must not be lazy but ready to put himself to consistent learning.
I am guessing that the reason why it was so hard was not because trading is hard, but because all the noise, all the false dogmas that are spread by countless “mentors” and traders, majority of whom have never been profitable themselves. Did this mentor make you profitable? Is he profitable himself?
Well I agree with almost 90% of what you say but
I do not agree at all. Sometimes I need a friend by my side when I’m trading even someone who is not even experienced with trading or even does not have any knowledge of trading, I would explain to them that this is the steps that I should take, if i go anywhere outa the plan, warn me! sometimes your emotions cant be overcome, you need help with that
Well if you call such a person “mentor” then okay. Usually what is meant by “mentor” is a teacher, a master who knows everything about trading and teaches you.
The best help against your emotions is a profitable strategy proven through back testing and automation of it. Welcome to the 21st century.
Yeah, education is important but at the end of the day, you still have to figure things out yourself and trust your own judgment.
