yeah, TomsEa is a version of grid/martingale… I have seen the code over 2 years ago…

it goes something like this… 0.01 0.01 0.02 0.03 0.03 0.05 0.08 0.12 0.2 0.4 0.6 0.9 1.3 1.8 2.4 3 and so on… I forget exactly the steps but you get the idea… it goes on like this placing trades every 50 pips or so till your over 600 pips down and making huge lots… the breaking point was about 600 pips for about a 40-60% SL then it really speeds up and youve blown an account in no time… He might have a max SL on it now if he took some advice that was being sent to him a couple of years ago and if so maybe he set this around 30-40% where the ‘breaking point’ is at…

But ya, all of these systems are a pure gamble… all you can do is hope to recover principle by pulling profits frequently and hope the D day is a long ways away… not for me

Thats not martingale Martingale is doubling lot size so it should go like this: 0.01,0.02,0.04,0.08,0.16,0.32,0.64,…

Hi there everyone. Sorry I know I have been mia. i have had a really busy summer.

Tom’s ea is doing well. I am comfortable with the drawdown which has been about 10% Overall my risk is very low. There was almost a week in the middle of this period where my machine shut down and I was out of town so I didnt catch it. This probably has a negative effect on the numbers. 2% monthly with 10% drawdown. Not the best numbers but not terrible by any means.

I saw a thread in this section called the 10 best ea’s and I thought to myself are there 10 good ones lol? Anyway I suppose if I had a top 10 list this would be on it.

God if I could find the time I would set up my portfolio again. uggg I have been working on one school after another all summer! You would not believe what CT spends on schools! $60mil here $39mil there. I wish I could afford one of these contracts but believe me I don’t have those kind of resources. Still in all it has been fun working on them as a sub.

I will try to be around more. Hopefully things will get back to a sane level! I am anxious to do a pair breakdown and see how each pair did so far. I’ll get it done…one of these days.

Thanks Man. I think you need to change your pairs. GBPCAD has about 4 pips spread so you need to switch this pair wih GBPUSD. I am using TEA for 3 months and in three months it made 1500 dollars on demo. I use EURUSD, GBPUSD, and USDCAD with risk level of 10.

I bet i can make a similar EA in 10 min with this or even better results on demo,but when it comes to real, it will wipe out your account sooner or later i guarantee that…

Thanks for your reply. I want to know that if an EA is making profit in demo then why not it will make the same profit on Live account since everything is same except for there is no real money involved in demo?

Not quite,tehnically it is but it may be that it’s not good programmed, i don’t know who programmed it but maybe it was not that pro.Here are a few tips why they could not work:
-EA is not ECN broker compatible
-Data retrieved from broker on real account is very fast/precise so may be too long and need to be truncated,while on demo it is not that quick because demo uses virtual cash (a professional mq4 programmer should know this)
-Programming code is obsolete, MT4 is updated like every week so you need to keep up with this
-Slippage not set correctly
-Broker is lying about order execution’s quickness or it has many requotes

But, the person who introduced me to Forex is using the same EA for over a year and making good profit every month and he is making a living on the EA automated trading so this is why I am thinking that it may not have much problems on Live too. Yes you are right about ECN so this is why I am going to try this EA live with an STP broker pretty soon.

If it’s programmed decently then the broker is possibly the problem.Try the same broker as he uses or ask him the setting files maybe you use different settings who knows.

Or maybe just try to configure the current settings to fit your broker.If you have 5 digit broker or 4 and the EA has different settings,or if you need to adjust lot size.You know only!

just an end of year update. I have been trading tea for 6 months. I have done virtually nothing whatsoever other than make sure my internet connection remained stable and on the lowest possible risk settings tea has earned…

**I really am sorry for not being around. I love this site I’ve just been so swamped with my other business. I am very excited for 2014! This is going to be my year. I will focus on my portfolio yes but a big focus will be on my live trading. God knows I love em both!!!
