Trade hold time

Hello all,

As you may have read, I never personally hold trades through the weekend when it comes to my personal account. Why? Simply because I am not confortable with the inherent risk associated with that, such as market gapping way past my Stop order…

However, I noticed “prop” firms are a great way for new traders to gain capital as long as they know what they are doing… Given their model, I would absolutley hold trades through weekends as long as I have a strong conviction the market will continue in my favour.

Bottom line is… don’t gamble with these props, keep risk to 1% preferably. But don’t be afraid to trade a bit more “boldly” either, as long as you respect their FAQ…

Im thinking about doing a series documenting one of those “challanges”, what do you think?

I have always been anti prop firms myself . I don’t like them for two reasons

  1. If your good enough to make money on prop firm do it yourself and simply compound .

  2. If your a profitable trader they sell your strategy to copy trading sites showing your high win percentage, they double dip which is wrong

I belive that is a myopic view. It helps build capital much faster.

Not faster Faster than compounding
