I did do a quick search to see if this question has been asked before, however I didnt spot anything so here goes;
I really like Trade Interceptor for the mobile charting function (I am tempted to try the desktop version as well) - however as my Broker is Oanda as far as I can tell (well from what google has told me) there is no support for me to use Oanda with this app - is this correct?
I understand people use this and Oanda (I think MasterGunner is one) - I am curious as to how they use it - only for the charting function and use another trading platform to make trades?
That’s exactly right. I chart with Trade Interceptor daily on my phone using the FXCM demo feed.
I write down all the orders I’m going to make during my analysis.
Then I open up my Oanda mobile app, and place the orders.
Oanda is awesome as a broker, but they are completely busted up when it comes to charting. Especially on their mobile app. It’s just clunky and butt ugly.
The desktop app is has a couple niggles. The annotations don’t save when you close it down you would have to physically save the template, also some tools change position when you zoom in and out. If you were to you fibb arcs for example and then zoom in the arcs change position even though they are drawn on the same move.
It works on one time frame only. So it would work on a 5m or 4h but you can’t switch between them. It’s got a simple interface and is nice and easy to use.
You basically select a period of time on a pair on one time frame and it plays it forward at selectable speeds. It means you can watch the hourly chart unfold as it did to test your trading strategies with. It’s a nice way to back test manual strategies.
