Traders Support Club

Hi Guys,

I was wondering if anyone has used these guys for training and how you found them. Google Traders Support Club as I am too new to post links.

I went to their open day yesterday in London and found it very interesting. There was no hard push to sign up nor any “special limited time offer” to sign up to their training. There were also no wild claims about huge amounts of money you can make.

According to Companies House they were dissolved in February
https://beta.companieshouse.gov.uk/company/08345759

They may not have been any hard push to sign up, but they ain’t cheap…

Up to £5k for the courses not included in their “free” package, or up to £249 a month for upgrades

They are becoming smarter and smarter. Watch out, nobody will sell profitable stuff if it do works.
Fool is keen on teaching, clever is keen on learning

Thank you guys for your replies.

I have a phone conference set up for tomorrow so will let you know how I go. I am automatically very skeptical.

I am not looking for a wonder money making strategy from them,. If I make an analogy with fishing, I don’t want them to give me a fish, or even teach me how to fish. I want them to teach me how they make their rods, design, test, risk management etc so that I can learn how to generate, test and eventually trade my own ideas.

Tat was ex… Worth the course?

Ask them about the company being dissolved in February, old debts, or about another company of theirs, TSC Wealth Management, which has also been dissolved, could be interesting

Interesting about Alistair, you are putting Chuck Norris to shame with your detective skills.

My first impressions of course are “holy ****” this is expensive. I mean, who in their right mind thinks basically 3K is reasonable plus on top of that, a monthly subscription?

I would pay it in a heart beat if I knew in say 6 months to a years time it got me going and on my way to trading profitably. But the problem is that it is a gamble, and I don’t normally chuck 3K around.

And unfortunately that is precisely the mindset they are looking for.
What Carlos has done here for you is a perfect example of the free, "no hidden agendas"
kind of assistance you will find at Babypips.
I have no knowledge, opinion or experience in regards to this company. But I do have
experience and my advice to you is DON’T GIVE YOUR MONEY AWAY TO ANYONE.
The reason it takes so incredibly long to learn to trade successfully with consistency is because it takes
so incredibly long to learn to trade successfully with consistency. That is the reality of it.
The attainment of knowledge takes time…a huge investment of your time and yourself.
And time is the one thing no amount of money will ever buy.
The road to success is definitely not paved with gold. And a 3K course will not expedite the journey.

So I had my phone call. It was with a young guy who spoke at the conference, no hard sell at all. I was free to ask him questions on his own experience with Traders Supporters Club and all sounded above board. My BS meter did not go off but it could be broken. He went from newbie to where he is now trading full time from his training at Traders Supporters Club.

They have a lot of live trading webinars through out the week as well as a whole lot of videos online. As my situation is I have all the time in the world, he expected the first month I would get through all their videos and then be looking to live trade by month 3. Incidentally he said he paid 8K for his training so perhaps this was the old price?

I told him I would think about it and be in contact if I want to go ahead. I am honestly not sure.

I cant believe youre still considering this.

Why can’t you believe it? No one has given any conclusive evidence or their own experience on why I should not use these guys apart from generalisations based on experience with other training providers.

Don’t get me wrong, the price is probably why I won’t go ahead as I think it is crazy. But crazy is also listening blindly to people offer their opinion without any actual evidence or experience.

Dude,

Seriously, no. They are scammers. Change your phone numbers and emails, I bet they start harassing you! If you are willing to part with that much money, rather buy books and read them, then with whats left you could use to put into practice what you’ve learn’t. Rather demo trade first but if you are actually considering giving your money to con artists, well then, think about it. Read some books first, I just bought “The complete turtle trader”, by Michael Covel. I bought it second hand on ebay for £10.

Here is a quote from wikipedia about the book, “In 1994, Covel picked up an issue of Financial World and skimmed through an article titled “Wall Street’s Top Players.”[5] Amongst famous investors like George Soros and Julian Robertson, Covel noticed a name he did not recognize at 25th on the list: R. Jerry Parker, who stated that he was trained as a “Turtle” by Richard Dennis (another name Covel did not recognize).[5] Parker was the only investor in the top hundred advertised as being “trained,” and as an investor himself, Covel found this story intriguing.[5]”

and

"Richard Dennis made over $200 million as a trader.[6] After having a debate with his partner, William Eckhardt, about whether trading is learnable or an inborn talent, they proposed an experiment where they would spend two weeks training novices in the science of trading and then give them each $1 million to invest.[5] The inspiration came from a trip Dennis took to a turtle-breeding farm in Singapore, stating, “We are going to grow traders just like they grow turtles.”[7]

Although each of the 1,000 applicants went through a rigorous application process designed to test their intelligence, ability to manage risk, and mathematical skills, the makeup of the chosen Turtles differed greatly; they included a Czechoslovakian-born blackjack master, a Dungeons and Dragons game designer, an evangelical accountant, a Harvard MBA, a U.S. Air Force pilot, and a former pianist.[1] The Turtles would go on to gross over $150 million in four years.[8][9]"

So real people making real money and explaining how they did it… for £10, Dude, seriously, keep your 3K, buy the / a book and go on holiday for 2 weeks somewhere sunny and read it. That’s a better way to spend your 3K… or just give it to me! Only kidding, but really, we are all strangers on the same boat, hoping to give good real advice.

I hope you keep your money, they are con artists! Good luck.

Sorry, didn’t read you recent post. The reason why is because my friends have all done courses similar to these. I have done a free one with my brokerage firm. My friends are all losing their money and call the trainers scammers (the trainers don’t earn their living trading, they earn it selling courses), after my free course I am the only one making money…

You need to speak to their happy / unhappy customers, not their sales people.

On top of that, the poster above Carlos Ray has shown the Company to be dissolved, ie, non functioning. It is illegal to operate a dissolved company. Also Carlos Ray found out one of the directors, Alistair Crooks is being investigated for fraud by the companies house and HMRC. The guy could be very dangerous, here is the proof that you must be careful. What more evidence do you need? The company is closed, they are not allowed to trade, why possibly because they have been shutdown or are under investigation or being sued by unhappy customers who gave them their money and realised it’s a con.

We have nothing to gain, only to help.

Fair enough…just trying to help

Thank you all for your feedback,

I know your hearts (or brains or both) are in the right place and you are taking your time out to help a newbie. I won’t be going ahead with the course.

Sorry if I sounded defensive/or short with my responses. I guess I like to have something more concrete to make decisions with but if more and more people keeping warning me and no one says training schools are great and recommends one, then that is evidence in itself.

Quadricolor, that book sounds really interesting to me and I am checking it out on Amazon right after I post this reply.

I also see there is a book written by one of the Turtles which could make an interesting second read

Way of the Turtle: The Secret Methods that Turned Ordinary People into Legendary Traders: The Secret Methods that Turned Ordinary People into Legendary Traders

Is this an elaborate way to promote “Traders Support Club” - as always I enjoy taking a different view

Man, the paranoia here is strong. More likely I am here to promote the Turtle Book
