Hello all, I have my introduction in the intro forum and in the process of getting funding to open an account and begin trading. I have been browsing the internet and found a website @ tradingcomputers.com and looking at the three monitor bundle named Falcon F-25. Have any of you purchased a set up from this company? Do you have an suggestion/experience with other companies? I could just piece together a trading set up from the local Best Buy, but do not want all of the junk they have loaded on those machines. Any suggestions are appreciated…Thanks
You don’t need anything fancy. If your strategy requires to actively trade then two monitors should be enough. But usually the more simple the setup (including indicators), the better. Some of the best traders I know of trade mostly on their laptops.
I just use an ASUS desktop, one monitor, from Best Buy. I trade thru Traders Way (off shore). 200-1 margin. Have long term positions based on weekly charts, plus I do some scalping. Never needed more than one monitor and this $500 computer works just fine. Good Luck.
I use my Samsung Note tablet most of the time
surface pro 2
best thing, batery survives 6 hours of active monitoring. smaller then most books, full pc
the the authors question: go buy a simple computer with a geeforce grafic card that supports 3 hdmi exits and 3 monitors running simultaniously (dont buy 3 grafic card, that wont work etc etc) and 3 monitors and for round about 800$ u got a super fancy trading computer. no need to buy the stuff thats offered as trading computers for few thousant $
For a beginner, regular computer with at least i3 and MT4 will be more than enough. No need of anything expensive.
Thanks everyone for the feedback. I understand that you can trade on just about anything, but I have gotten spoiled with my 2 monitor set up at work when I go home to my single monitor it just seems less efficient although it gets the job done. My thought is I would like to have 1 monitor dedicated to Trade Station, 1 dedicated to a second charting software while the third runs anything else for research All of this may be overkill and without the proper skill or strategy it really all doesn’t matter, but from a comfort stand point (And just sheer having toys) I think three is the way I’m heading . I think I’ll see what I can piece together though as TURBONero suggested and save some bucks though
I’m just using a simple laptop for my trading. There isn’t any fancy things especially for trading in it. I trade on simple charts and my one and only laptop is enough for this.
