Trading in California

So as I read through the babypips school, I was wondering is the best time to trade in california during the AM times?

What time in PST is probably the best? Thanks.

Hope you like waking up to the smell of dawn’s buttcrack.

Cause I find the most volatile time to trade in the AM times are from 8:00-12pm EST.

4AM wake up call for you I believe.

But no worries. I’m generally up a half hour later burning up an hours worth of exercise.

hehe and there really isnt any PM volatile times right? Ive been demoing on and off for some time now and I noticed that the most volatile times are during those AM times…

Other times you might consider:

[ul]
[li]4pm-8pm PDT — this is the first 4 hours of the Tokyo session (these times will change in the fall)
[/li]

[li]11pm-2am PDT — this is the first 3 hours of the European session, and the first 2 hours of the London session
[/li][/ul]

Generally, large surges in trading volume, and potentially large price moves, begin at these times:

[ul]
[li]Midnight (12am) PDT — this is referred to as the “London opening”. It’s the beginning of the regular business day in the U.K., at 8am London time. London is the largest forex market in the world, and many traders make a good living trading only the London opening.
[/li]

[li]6:30am PDT — this is the opening of the New York Stock Exchange at 9:30am New York time. The NYSE is the largest stock exchange in the world, and its opening is frequently more important (to the forex market) than the beginning of the regular business day at 8am New York time (5am PDT).
[/li]

[li]11pm PDT — this is referred to as the “European opening”. It’s the beginning of the regular business day at 8am in Zurich, Frankfurt, Paris, and the rest of the Central European time zone. The “European opening” generally has less impact than the “London opening”. However, the two are just one hour apart, so they often reinforce one another.
[/li]

[li]4pm PDT — this is referred to as the “Tokyo opening”. It’s the beginning of the regular business day at 8am in Japan. It’s followed one hour later by the “Singapore opening”, which is important because Singapore is the second largest forex market in Asia. (The Tokyo opening will change to 3pm PST, and the Singapore opening will change to 4pm PST, in the fall, when the U.S. returns to Standard Time).

I’m on PST, and do most of my trading between 11:00 PM, and 1:00AM

It’s plenty busy usually, and as Clint says, bigger daily moves start there fairly frequently.
