The forex market is open 24 hours a day, So why are there trading sessions? Can i trade GBP/USD even though the session is over, the issue is i work all day, could i trade GBP/USD at Wednesday at 7:30PM EST?
Are the trading session there because those are the best times to trade because other markets are open at that time, and the market is moving.?
My question is can still trade those currencies though out the week at night if those sessions are over, For example could i trade GBP/USD at Wednesday at 7:30PM EST even though that session is over?
Or do they just point out trading session because those are the best time to trade because the market is moving? And you can actual trade any currency at any time just not on the weekend when the market is closed.
Trading sessions indicate points of focus. Yes, the majors trade round the clock, but even among them there is greater or lesser volume and/or volatility depending on the session. For example, Aussie and Japanese data is released during the Asian session, which is likely to mean higher volatility for those currencies. And once you get beyond the majors the trading volume becomes much more regional. For example, there isn’t much USD/MXN trading outside the North American session.
