Trading space frustration

I so wish i had a bigger house as am just starting out with forex and am having to work on the laptop on the dining room table. The aim is to make money doing this so that i can buy a bigger house with an office, so I can have some peace lol. Anyone else faced with this problem?

“…I can buy a bigger house with an office”? - Nice
Dream on…

Go to a coworking space. Rent a small office.
Sit in a coffee shop.

am still dreaming lol

i still am lol

I’m a bit frustrated right now. I’m seeing all these news events, and markets are going up and down.

I’m demo trading but, I’m starting to feel like this volatility is not a good starting point for me as a beginner. I’m feeling scatter-brained.

Oil prices drop. Ooh I should look at that.
JPY goes up and down.
AUD…CNH…

It’s so distracting, and I can’t focus. I’m having trouble learning to trade under these volatile conditions.

Perhaps swing trading is for me, but these are not swing trading conditions.

Part of me wants to take a break from demo trading and just review the Pipsology lessons.

Any suggestions? Should I learn to trade under these conditions? Is this anxiety and distraction level normal?

*sorry. I thought I posted this in the “what makes you frustrated thread?”

no problem, i feel some of these frustrations also.

I have been trading a few years now and trade from our kitchen table by choice. Indeed, I’d say that one of the advantages of retail trading is that we can have whichever environment we like and still make money. My wife works out of a home office at our house, but I prefer the kitchen. Generally, kitchens are bigger than offices and in our case has a better view. It’s all about the view. My wife needs the office as she needs to do video conferencing. But with my quiet trading, I just need a kitchen table, a laptop and the radio. The joy of trading is that you can do it from anywhere.

Coffee maker?

I still a beginner. Had an office for another business that I worked out of. Sat in front of the screen all day.

But I moved to trading the dailies found out I can work at another job and still take advantage of the moves of the daily chart without all the screen time.

Good luck finding your space!

I’m old school, just have an Aga with an old tin kettle on it. It’s a Georgian house so keep the gadgets to a minimum when I can (although my wife has two Kitchenaids denting my Georgian outlook!).

I’m a Daily trader myself, mainly entering off EOD orders. Just as well, as at the moment I’m home schooling our kids!

yes very true, just gets a bit frustrating when my children are leaving stuff everywhere lol.

It’s great that you have a purpose, because it will serve as a great motivation for your future. You’re doing great, I wish you success!

It’s just great that you have a specific goal, because that’s why you’ll try and better navigate the market. I wish you to achieve your goals, these are the traders who become real professionals.

I dont need a big house, tired for clean up…
btw, I am trading under a tree beside football field…just brought my Ipad…hahhhahhah…

Dont kill your self by glued you face in front of the chart…goes daily TF…and enjoy life…

I agree that this is a very interesting time to be trading. Conventional advice is to focus on one or 2 pairs/indices/commodities at a time and learn them. I’m inclined to agree with this advice. With everything that is going on at the moment, there is an overload of information anywhere and the temptation to dip in and out of markets that you are not familiar with.

My suggestion would be to pick your favourite market, whatever that may be, and focus only on that one until you are comfortable. Hopefully this will ease your frustration. Good luck and happy trading

Should have kept reading!!

Trading the the daylillys is far more balanced for me.

How’s that going, a month out?

Now that’s a cool office. But what if it rains? Then what?

A friend was telling me he’s doing well with stocks. I recently went live, and lost 25% of my account.

I didn’t want to switch to stocks because the problem isn’t the financial instrument—it’s my trader psychology. The problem would follow me no matter what I trade.

I had to assess my trades. I did a tally, and it seems my biggest problem was running away at the slightest pullback.

So, I had to readjust my trading plan. My trades are doing better, and I’m less stressed.

I’m so grateful I went to the school of Pipsology. It schooled me very well!!

I used to have three screens and two PCs–and an office. Now I can use just my phone. I went full circle, lol. From basic, to complicated, then back to basics.
