Trading the 1 minute chart

ROFLMAO!!!

Shame. I can give her a reason for being here!!! LOL!!!

But nah: that’s more like what happens when Dale trades the MIB40, is in profit at closing time, and then sits and watches the futures reverse direction overnight!!! LOL!!!

Regards,

Dale.

Here is an example:

Sometimes a nice trend just looks just as frantic as a whiplash or a breakout on the 30min or 1h chart…
So just to give my self an idea I will look at the 1min chart and see if the action has been taken place on just one tick or if it is spread over several more or less equal ticks or in some fashion that suggest a trend is taking place.

If all the action is happening on one tick… I consider a bit of a fall knife (or worse, a yoyo-ing knife).
If I see some type of stair-like pattern I will consider entering a trade.

An other example… at the end of a breakout, there is a fair amount of zizagging on the higher time frames.
However on the 1min you can see the trend nicely petering out of steam

Maybe these were coincidences but so far it seems like it (again I am a super noob)

Oh… I forgot one more…
On higher time frame, often it looks like chart just went through pivot lines like butter… whereas looking on the 1min chart you can see sometime several tests. This I have found to be more predictive of a a good entry point if when guessing if chart will go through or not.

Good point. so you can paddle a dingy in and out of all the little coves and inlets or just sail up the coast from SanDiego to Seattle. Either way you get from point A to point B but one way you cover a lot more distance.
It’s like cutting my grass, I can walk a couple hundred feet across it or I can cut the grass and walk 3 miles. (my riding mower broke, anyone know how to fix a clutch?).

I must just have a different view of timeframe from everyone else. If I enter a trade and put a stop loss and a take profit and turn off my computer and go sit on the back porch… what time frame am I trading?

Miller Time?

Miller? that’s not a real beer! Might as well drink Mic ultra yuck! :29:

I see alot of people referring to trading the 1 minute charts as only taking a couple pips at a time and that is not the case. You have the opportunity to catch many big trends using a 1 minute chart, not just little trades.

Yeah I know it’s piss water but wasn’t “It’s Miller Time” an advertising slogan years ago? Probably back when I was driving my 1971 Dodge Dart… I’m getting old.

Didnt they bring back the whole “Miller Time” marketing recently?

Are you going to explain what you are referring to?

If you conduct some very basic research, dial into the webinar presented on their video channel & watch the content it’ll tell you everything you need to know about the model, what it’s designed to do, when it’s designed to operate efficiently & how it achieves its objective.

Take the bull by the horns & seek.

I trade the 1 mins with a average 66.6% success rate

Please stop spamming.

Im not spamming buddy

Anyone who operates a successful model, be it algo or human based, or a combination of the two aren’t going to reveal the mechanics by drawing attention to it or screaming it out on a public forum.

Not only would they actively avoid shining a spotlight on their endeavors for obvious reasons, but they also can’t be assed with all the naïve & ignorant feedback associated with thinking & operating outside the box.

After all, that’s how most of these folks make the majority of their money, by doing exactly that.

Yes there are folks on here (well, folks who used to hang out on here) who operate hft algo setups & models across FX & non-FX markets extremely successfully & have done for some time, but you won’t have a cat in hells chance of persuading them to share that aspect of their operation here I’m afraid.

That only leaves you chewing the fat & arguing the toss with those who aren’t adequately equipped psychologically, structurally or financially to be even considering betting a hft and/or micro timeframe set up.

Are you asking me to explain how you can capture longer trends than just a couple of pips using 1 minute charts?

Can you explain how you do this?

I understand people may not be easy to open up to their techniques, but I think if this forum is about forex trading education than the people here should a little bit… and BTW I am not talkint about trading 1 minute charts using high frequency trading or automated systems…

To all of the new posters on this thread trying to sell something, please explain how your stuff works and not just plugging it… all we need is a screen shot of your stuff, without the name of it of course, and a nutshell explanation on how you enter and exit a trade with your system and YOUR ENTRIES AND EXITS HAVE TO BE ON 1 MINUTE CHARTS!!

Exactly… If you can stick to rules you can def. see on a 1 minute chart when the current trend is running out of steam… and that trend/run could be waayy more than a couple pip run. I would love to post a pic on here of that but since it shows my indicators i am not allowed to… if you like to see how i determine the run is over on a 1 minute chart you can check my profile on this forum and go to my homepage… the video there will show it to you in real time
