Nowadays almost all trading platforms have mobile versions both for Android and iOS. At the same time, such versions provide trader only with basic functions like placing orders and operating with the positions. For sure, you will be able even to use indicators and some elements of technical analysis, but it would be only a small part of features available with the desktop version. Thus, tablet could be used only for trading in situations when you have no access to your main trading station while it is almost impossible to use tablet as the main trading device. As it was mentioned before, the main issue is not with the screen size, but with functionality. Even small laptop or netbook would be much better than tablet.
At the same time, if you need something extremely portable, pay attention to Windows-based tablets. They will provide you with the possibility to use desktop version of the platfrom that would be much better than mobile one. You would be able to use other special trading software too.
For sure, tablet could be useful for trader. It is very comfortable to use it to read books dedicated to trading that contain a lot of charts and drawings, or even to use it as an additional monitor if it is large enough. The only category of traders that could probably use tablet as their only device are swing/mid-term traders since they have enough time to conduct analysis and their decisions mostly based on fundamental analysis.
