Trendlines

Hello everyone. This is my first post and i don’t know if i correct attached the image. Iam not sure when a trenline is considered finished. If there is an uptrend with lets say 5 higher highs and higher lows but between them there are one or two lower highs or lower lows. Is this considered an uptrend or the uptrend came to an end when the first higher low or lower high occured. Thanks

Simple answer - when it gets crossed, until then it will be valid.

Thanks for the answer. The problem is that every time is gets croosed it’s just forming another lower low and i can just remove the trendline little bit lower so again will be an uptrend. I could draw the image above differently so the trendline could be crossed before the first lower low occured but then again it is going up.

What PP said is correct. However if it is getting tested price will go through the trendline even sometimes as the trend line gets tested you may need to adjust the trend line a little but if it gets broke you will know. As price will go through it and keep going. Also look at higher time frames. What appears to be a broken trendline can be just a retracement back to a trendline on a larger time frame

They are subjective in nature.

However when you realise that the trendlines you keep “redrawing” gets broken again and again, chances are you know the trend has either

  1. stalled

  2. reversed

Hope that helps

Image 1319916800-clip-90kb.jpg sorry for the pic. but if you want to follow trendlines you must look at them step by step.

in your egsample that i took to draw some TLs you can see 3 trendlines (1,2,3) and the 4 is a horizontal trendline or in a better word a support.

to draw a TL you always need at least 2 tops or 2 bottoms. and a longterm trendline (like the one you post) can have a lot of shortterms trendlines.
