Two profits target

hi,

Would like to ask. I seen some of the traders open two lots for two different target. Do they normally open the 2 lots still under their risk percentage. eg. 2%.?

I assume they position size it such that the two lots is still under 2%.?
Isnt that the same as open 1 lot of 2% and closed half of it.

abit confusing

Yes, the overall risk should still be under reasonable money management. They aren’t, or rather shouldn’t be doubling their risk, but rather closing half of their existing risk in profit and letting the rest run.

It’s important to make sure that second half runs decent enough. In the long run, it’s possible that it’s just better to close the entire open position and come out ahead over the previously mentioned method of closing a trade.
