Was wondering if anyone had any humorous stories of people trying to bestow their sage trading wisdom upon you, without you requesting it.
Are you speaking from personal experience?
I have had more than my share of people trying to give me advice. I know there has to be tons of people who have come in contact with the local office “expert” after having had the subject come up at work.
I just got one recently. A relative found out about my trading in the FX market and asked if I was trading on a computer. He than went on to explain how he knows a guy who was one of the first to use computers for trading and made a lot of money in the 70s. However, now, the market is just too saturated and nobody can really make money through online trading. I almost grabbed my laptop to show him that I was at least making money while trading online but I just contented myself with being part of the “nobody” group instead.
Most who give me advice aren’t even trading now. I will be in a winning position and they will ask “are you making any money today?” I say well, I am up twenty dollars since this morning. They then state that they were at a seminar one time and the guy told them to take the profit. A profit is never a loss. Then do it again tomorrow. I said well, if I was 100% accurate everyday that would be an awesome strategy.
