hey everyone, I’ve checked around this forum and haven’t found a thread similar to this, so I apologize if I’m creating a multiple here…
Basically, I’m just looking to see what all of you use to keep ahead of the news breaks, and what agency (website/other news feed) offers the quickest update to news breaks?
I’m asking this because, even though I’ve made some time to make my own website catering to my specific situation (not really a site, just a bunch of RSS feeds from several different news sites), I find myself not relying on it too much, because I don’t know how late the news has actually broke out. Oh btw, I’d be happy to post my site up here for you guys.
So yeah, I’m just looking to stay 1up on the news to take advantage of the charts (IF that’s possible:rolleyes:)
forexfactory.com lists all the major news that will effect your pair. You can also set it to your timezone. I find it pretty reliable. My pairs spread widens just about the time the red flags are announced.
You’ll find that minor news has little to no short term effect. What babypips and forexfactory list is a good indicator to watch.
From what I was watching the charts it seems that all news reactions (if any) happen atleast a minute prior to the news release. I base this on the fact that it takes atleast a second or two for a person to react, and while watching some news releases on TV, the reaction allready takes place before the announcment. Even with lag on both ends on my side, this a bit outside of the norm. I’ve also seen it go the wrong way, then counter the ‘correct’ way as per popular opnion post news. So is up to the minute news even really going to help? I wonder if (espically with that large jump I saw that one day) going against the commonly guessed direction would be a decent trading stragie if one got the correct P&L going. The few times that everybody goes one way, the definatly overreact extremely to correct the direction.
I’ve been searching for site that provide live news and without refresh for long time and for free and not long ago I’ve found this http://rtsquawk.com/ . And I really like it …
