German federal elections are due 26/09. Incumbent Chancellor Angela Merkel is not standing as a candidate. Her party’s popularity soared as the government reacted to the covid pandemic but has been in almost continuous decline ever since. They have just in recent days fallen behind the opposition SPD. This is the main economy within the EUR zone: let’s face it, the EUR wasn’t exactly strong before this mess.
