Okay, my title was a bit click baity, but it’s mostly accurate. Chrome Browser has a 0 day security flaw. Google has an update. Fix yourself now.

You should always keep your software updated anyway.
I agree why wouldn’t you.
Some updates tend to break things, so not everybody shares in the practice of auto-updating. Operating systems and browsers are notorious for this. If you could have the options of autoupdating between core app files versus security options, that would be great. But most software that I’ve seen doesn’t give you that granularity.
Plus, Chrome seems to be getting more and more bloated. Why willingly let them add more bloat?
I will say I take a layered approach to security. So I’ve got other security related software running.

I’ve been using Firefox for a long time now and I have no desire to move onto Chrome to begin with. It’s too minimalistic for my taste.
I do not trust Chrome much as well. It seems like there are no transparency there, almost each week it makes me agree with some data collection updates which is pretty annoying so I try to use it rarely. So I am not surprised that it’s a hackers favourite.
I’m all in Google. They probably know more about me than my mother. But that’s a tradeoff I’m willing to make at the moment, until something changes.
Its true as forexforexforex says above, updates can cause operating problems. This has happened to me several times in the past, and I’ve had to repeatedly re-set the PC to a time and date in the past.
However, most device users are like me - unable to judge which security or update features are essential and which are not - so we have to accept them all and just deal with the collateral damage that they inflict.
I just stick with windows vista and internet explorer 9. Been running smoothly so far…
All updates tend to cause problems, we definitely have to deal with that.
