Rumors that AIG has entered talks with the New York Fed has stabalized the US capital markets, but has yet to lead to any substantive advance. The Dow continues its choppy rise up 0.3 percent to 10,953 at noon. Yields on the 10-year T-Note were up 3 basis points to 3.414 - though the 3-month bill is still plunging 0.823 percent (for comparison they were at 1.068 at the beginning of the week). In the FX market, international interest in US assets have rebounded with the dollar index up at 79 from the overnight lows around 78.4. Even those commodities priced in dollars are fading. Crude was off 4 percent at $91.83 and gold was down 0.76 percent at $787.
