Hi All,
I’m having a great time absorbing as much FX info as I can and have started to jump in a few chat rooms to talk (Type) to fellow traders.
What I was wondering was if anyone knows of any free ‘Voice Rooms’ or ‘Conference Rooms’?
I think it would be handy to be able to chat (Talk) to traders while looking at charts, rather than trying to read/type and look at charts.
Anyway, I just thought I’d ask.

Just be careful, a lot of people hanging out in live chat rooms can really lead you astray. For instance when I was still very new, a guy in a chat room kept talking about what a great short the G-Y was, so I shorted it … he kept going on about it all night, "it’s going to turn around any time now, it’s going to drop like a rock"
Naively I remained short and lost hundreds of pips, while it turned out he was long the whole time … he was waiting to get short but in the meantime was long. Just one of many examples I have encountered. It is much worse when trading equities as people in live chats often do a ‘pump & dump’ routine, enticing newbies to buy into a small cap or low value stock, while they are selling.
In Forex it is too big a market to influence it by persuading people to buy or sell a particular pair but I think some people do this just for the (perverse) fun of it. Bottom line IMO newbies can get seriously bad advice in live chat rooms, I advise people to stay away from them unless you are experienced & not easily influenced by others

I can see where you are coming from and understand what you are saying. I would just like to find a room where I can observe and maybe have input into the ideas the room throws up. I’m not interested in taking calls, etc; just want to chat to other traders about their thoughts, etc.
