Weekend trading

I thought that Oanda allows weekend trading. Maybe I have it wrong but I was trying their demo to see some weekend rates but no luck. I am just totally misunderstanding this? I wouldn’t think that weekend trading would be possible but I thought I saw that in some past posts.

It’s allowed, but you’d be a fool to open a trade with those spreads. EURUSD jumps from .9 to 20 pip spread.

After weekend’s close, Oanda usually shuts down for a few hours or so to work on maintenance if any is necessary. Their demo side does take a bit longer at it, as they would logically allot more man hours to maintain their live accounts, then their demo accounts.

Thanks for the response, I will keep an eye on it over the weekend. I do agree that it would be a bad idea to place trades though, I am just trying to find a way to follow the price over the weekend in hopes to see what the gap will be like on Sunday. I use MIG anyway so won’t be placing live trades on Oanda.

There isn’t any relevant PA in the weekend since banks and markets are closed. Oanda and some other brokers are opened, but the market movers are not trading, unless something huge happens…

To me said, that during week-end the market does not work. Or it not so?

Some brokers keep it open, but as there is no volume, prices won’t move.

That is it is better to trade in a current of working week?

Yeah, unless you like huge spreads and no price action :stuck_out_tongue:

So weekend means weekend? We can enjoy time to restore energy

Or spend it!!!
