Weekend trading

Is it ok to leave your trade running through the weekends, or is it better to close your trade before weekends then continue the following week?

The Friday night close compared to Monday-Thursday’s closes is often a good indication what to do.

A significantly higher (or lower) Friday close is often followed by continuation for at least the Asian and morning London sessions on Monday. If the direction of your trade is right at Friday’s close, and the Friday close is higher (or lower) than the other days of the week, expect profits to increase. If the direction is wrong and Friday’s close is the highest (or lowest of the week), expect losses to increase.

What happens after that when New York opens is anyone’s guess.

It would depend on your strategy. If you’re a swing trader then any weekend volatility should not affect your trades as you would expect swings in price, and your SL (if you use one) would reflect that.

If you’re scalping then chances are you will want to close them out Friday afternoon.
