What are EX4 files and MQL4 source files?

Hi,
I’m a eagerly learning newbie and have been looking with interest in the BabyPips winning systems thread for different strategies to have a try at.

The creators of these systems helpfully zip up their indicators etc into a folder and post them for us all to try.
We then copy the files into our indicators and templates folders within MT4

The problem I sometimes have however is that a lot of the indicators do not appear in my MT4 platform’s custom indicators or objects dropdowns afterwards :o

The only thing I can spot is that the ones that do appear have MQL4 source files but also have an identically named EX4 files too.
Is that the issue do you think in that indicators will only work with both these files in the directory?

Thanks for the link…i’ve been doing the BabyPips course but I was getting too impatient for some pips action i think lol
Will learn not to get ahead of myself in future methinks :slight_smile:
