Personally I think they are a joke and waste of time. I did come across more and more brokers who do offer them and was wondering what you guys think about them?
I believe it will be hell withdrawing the money if you succeed in multiplying it
but the important thing is that in 99% of cases you won’t be able to multiply it!
Yes, most people will lose that money. You can barely open a position with that money and I don’t see the point of it. Either offer a real bonus or don’t do it at all.
$5 No Deposit Bonus is a strategy to invite new traders to trade with them. It is not helpful and money withdraw conditions are also very complex in such cases. Therefore some prominent brokers offer $50 or $100 no deposit bonus to traders.
I agree Haley. I think most somewhat intelligent traders understand that $5 is not even worth it. I would never pick my broker based on a deposit bonus to start with, but if a good broker offers a real bonus I would be happy to try them.
I think those who really worry about their reputation and professionalism won’t even bother offering bonuses.
Having been a victim of a bonus-offering broker (Etoro), I am nowadays wary of brokers that offer bonuses and “free money”.
Cheers
I understand your point of view about eToro. I have to disagree that it is bad for a brokers reputation to offer bonuses. In general there are several brokers who are questionable with their bonuses, but I would not make a general statement like that.
it is just a tease to new clients.
read the fine print (most do not). I’ve heard stories before wherein traders where unable to withdraw or their profits vanished. i do not know if these are true.
I agree that the conditions are important and that there are plenty of brokers who scam traders out of their own profits. Having said that, we should not throw all brokers into the same camp as there are some who do not engage into those practices.
