What brokers are everyone using with MT5?

no-ones abandoned mt4 yet.

You have a point there, MT4 is more widely used/supported. However, there are at least three reasons I can give you why I don’t want to do that:

  1. I’ve already written it, and it was several months of work.
  2. It uses several MT5-specific features like dynamic arrays.
  3. Therefore, porting it back to MT4 would be non-trivial.

I suggest you have done things backwards. You should have asked the question before writing the code. What broker’s platform did you write it for?

As far as brokers going to MT5, it will be a long time. There is no compelling reason for them to do so such as new features to market. I have heard from the MQL5 discussion forum that there are still many problems in stabilizing MQL5 even after 6 months of beta testing.

Porting your code back to MQL4 is going to be tough as you suggest. What I would do is use the MT5 demo platform to run the code and generate the trade signal. Then build an interface (or use someone’s) to trigger and manage the trade in MT4.
