Just something I wonder, do any of you guys know? Thanks
Now then: who are you asking about - people trading currencies in the interbank market, or people sitting at home betting against a counterparty market-maker whoās pretending to be a ābrokerā?
Both groups do contribute some positive things to society (one group more than other) but of course theyāre very different things, because the other people with whom theyāre commercially involved are also very different, in each case.
well i was talking about like people who trade on interbank like for an institution or retail traders, what do they contribute apart from like taxes? thanks
Well people who like trade in like the interbank network are like trading for like commercial interests or like large speculative interests or for like the bank itself. And you can like draw your own conclusions and stuff about like how much that contributes to like society and stuff.
They serve only to increase their own holdings and the holdings of the Reactionary Capitalist Bourgeois Imperialist Oppressors of the Proletariat.

I obey all the laws I can and pay all the tax I have to. I help some people I donāt have to. Thatās all society gets from me.
Unsuccessful forex trader contribute money to the forex community. Providing liquidity to the Foreign exchange market. Successful forex trader in turn contribute both evil morally wrongful activity or noble charitable causes to society.
it is a big contribution from traders that forex has become largest financial market. Although high % of traders is not successful here but they are helping to grow this business. This market helps many people to do their own business. Due to traders this market is running they invest less or great amount here.
Exchange liquidity and international trade facilitation.
As much traders are joining forex business they are growing this business. They contribute to make it more popular. When successful traders tell others about profits , they are also attracted. Looser also taking part because their money is used to make this market more volume.
What do forex traders contribute to society?
Very, very little, 99.6% of us are attempting to make money out of money, a parasitic venture. Weāre not manufacturing products, providing any services, not helping anyone in the pursuit of lining our own pockets.
I minimise my tax as much as physically possible⦠quite frankly I donāt like the way my government spends itā¦pissing millions of dollars against the wall every week on frivolous programs, over budget infrastructure and aid to countries whose inhabitants would kill us at the first chance.
A real service that can be derived from Forex is to take profits from the market, away from the glutenous institutions, whose prime motivation is to enable the rich to get richer and do something positive with it.
I think the contribution is much more subtle and profound than the replies Iāve read so far. What is the key to trading success- mastery of techniques and strategies, or mastery of self? Certainly it is mastery of self. Who fails at trading? Those who are slaves of fear, greed and sloth. This also affects every other area of their lives, increasing failures and disappointments. A successful trader has learned self-mastery and control or elimination of fear, greed and sloth. This also affects every other area of their lives, increasing success, self esteem and the Gross National Happiness index.
āWhat do forex traders contribute to society?ā
Those who succeed at forex, whether institutions or individuals, do not directly produce anything of value by their trading. Their responsibility lies in what they do with their profits.
I, for one, hope to not only retire from my job and support my family better than I do now, but I also hold to a worldview that I promote as best I can with the money that I already have because I am convinced that it is a very wholesome and healthy one, one which will make the world a much better place if more people will adopt it and live it out; and the more I earn from forex the better I will be able promote it.
What I have just said about myself is a case in point illustrating the apparently obvious fact that the great responsibility that forex traders have lies not in the winning of money, which in itself is fruitless, but in what they do with it once they get it. Therein lies the great potential good in forex trading.
Hope you all do well with forex and support wholesome causes with your profits.
Take care,
Norm
Their responsibility lies in what they do with their profits.
Hopefully, we all make enough to help others around us! Although I suppose stimulating the economy counts but directly helping others is what I hope to be able to do by making money.
Its a very important question that many people are not asking themselves. To be honest I always look down on traders who do not express such thoughts, as I view them as selfish, money-hungry assholes.
We live in a society where it is not a prerequisite to Getting a job that we justify that job in terms of contribution to society.
A society where you are entitled to your views and not prevented from expressing them.
I have to wonder though, why if you hold these views, are you here ?
To learn something? Engage in a community that can benefit my understanding and that I can help myself?
I donāt connect.
My point was: I despise people living their life with the goal = I want to be rich. People who make money for the purpose of making money, without anything outside of that.
To me on a fundamental level a job means a contribution to the society that is being rewarded.
Isnāt it a fundamental of the US constitution that people be entitled to āLIfe, Liberty and the pursuit of Happinessā ?
I know what your āpoint isā - and you can despise whomsoever you like - Iām sure those you āDespiseā are not bothered by your emotions - but you, it seems are very bothered by them.
That makes it Your problem, not theirs imho.
[Edit - Only Joshing you mate, but I do suggest backing off a little from the ācares of the worldā aspect - Lifeās too short to āhateā things you canāt possibly change. All the best ]
I feel you I can assure you that I do not care whether those people care or not. I really am quite careless, not sure if I can convince you at this point.
Just wanted to express my opinion on this topic and show some sympathy to people who ask similar questions to mine
To continue the discussion I think that you approached the conversation more emotionally than I did. I think the reason is that my english is just not good enough to understand the nuances of the language. āDespiseā is pretty emotionless in my head, but now that I look at it, it is not in the general meaning of the word. Guess I shouldāve phrased it āI do not like to talk with such people, they bore me, I discard them based on what their ideology isā.
EDIT: I do not value happiness directly, indirectly sometimes. My nickname should show my influences on the topic.
Tends, whats up, Wow, that is seriously deep, Iāve read it a couple of times but never thought that deeply about till now. But for me, just trying to make a buck, never really thought of myself as a parasite
