What do you do in your spare time while waiting for trade set-ups!

Hey People,

Just a quick question as a side topic from actually trading, after all it can get on top of us sometimes!

I used to trade the 15M charts about a year ago, the great thing about this time frame is that you were almost guaranteed one trade each day, sometimes even more. The downside being that it wasn’t profitable :wink:

I now trade the 1H Time Frame and my own trading has become much tighter, I also just look at a single pair for simplicity. Getting a trade each day on this TF never happens, with the average monthly number of trades floating around the 10 yield mark. Nevertheless, these empty days still require constant reviews of the charts to see if any potential set-ups are forming in the pipeline.

Trying yo keep yourself occupied is easier said than done, there is only so much you can view online and only so much rubbish you can read about other retarded topics.

So what do you do in this ‘void of time’ - I know what I used to do…random trading, just to keep busy, and just for the record, this also isn’t profitable :wink:

I used to trade 5M, but I got bored of staring at the charts all day.

Now with the 1h - 4h charts, I got time to do all the stuff that comes to my mind, lol. :stuck_out_tongue: Chatting, gaming, reading senseless stuff…

If it’s trading related, work on algos, datamine or study my own past performance or just do some research on new concepts. But of course get out and do some stuff you enjoy also thats not trading related like sail, hang out with the gf, drink beer etc…

a hedge fund guy on a forum i used to frequent used to get baked out of his mind, listen to music, and trade until the market closed (stocks, not forex). while waiting for trades, he’d lift weights or do body weight exercises. seemed like a pretty nice way to live imo.

As i’m still learning. When waiting for the trades. I tend to read book’s and article’s related to trading and spend most of the time on that.
