I trade major currency pairs. I like that their spreads are very tight (at least with my broker). This makes it possible to make profitable trades and set small stop losses.

Look to your strategy for direction on what to trade. If it’s a trend-following system or break-out system, most forex pairs will most of the time be poor selections. If it’s a mean reversion system, shares and stock indices will often be the wrong choice.
