I suggest multiple monitors. Mainly because having charts on one and even news or reading on the other helps split things up resolution wise. Like in my picture I’ve got a 24" display but am still looking to hook up another 19" or 20" as a secondary for things I’d like to have open on the side. I.E two trading platorms.
As for operating system, Windows 7 for sure. Vista runs a bit slow and 7 is great. I’ve had so many problems with Vista I can’t wait to upgrade to Win7.
so, this is what a trader should prepare too, aside from learning to trade…serious gadget investments. Thanks a lot folks for telling us what you all got
I still use my old gaming rig before, when I still played world of warcraft and starcraft II. Nothing fancy. Some of the letters are missing from the keyboard. o.O
a simple AMD-based PC, 4G RAM, Win7-64Pro (that will soon to get shoved onto an SSD), and here’s the fun part… dual graphics cards spitting out to 6 monitors (23" each). logitech cordless trackball, of course.
plus an HP g-series 15" laptop (Win7-64Home) as backup / news / forums
plus an iPad mini for on-the-go trading
plus a Galaxy Nexus for on-the-go-backup and to provide a WiFi hotspot (tethering) for said iPad mini
and yes, i can and have been logged into my account on all 4 devices simultaneously (gets kinda pointless though after the 3rd device)
