What happened with the AUDUSD?

Hi All
Does anyone know what caused the massive drop in the AUDUSD recently? (see attached image). I noticed the same drop in the AUDJPY.

That sudden drop pales in comparison to the drop in EUR/USD and GBP/USD. Probably all resulting from the same thing as well.

So from what I’ve learned, doesn’t that mean that the move was in the USD itself?

Actually, it all started in sterling. The pound got sold-off hard across the board before anything else started moving.

Nope, nothing strange on the news feed… It must be the big boys pushing the price down to where they want it to be at the close of 2011.

drops like these happen all the time with AUD/USD, just look at the day chart.

Yes, it was nothing unusual, it looked more striking on the shorter TF charts because the range was quite small from the last few quiet days

do these 2 things combined mean the Euro & GBP are becoming as risky as Asian/ Australian currency?
