What is the best forex platform?

Hi everybody! Im getting into the forex market and I need to know what the best forex platform is. Does somebody know? HELP!

MT4 works best for most people in terms of charting. Besides that, the platform shouldnt matter, as long as trades can be performed on it. Good luck!

Thanks fxelitetrader for ur suggestion… What do I have to do to get that one? is it the only one?

If it comes to charting I’ve found an even better platform called T-view Platinum. For me MT4 is matter of people who’s used to this platform, but if you really dig out you’ll find pretty interesting platforms.

Hi everyone, Im new on this forex market. I have read the replies for Adambr as you said the platform doesnt really matter but do you recommend any? Because I found many on internet but Im not really sure which one is better in terms of reliability & security.

meta trader 4 is the most popular one, I’ve noticed that many broker are introducing it to their client’s.

Ninjatrader can be used for free charting. Been using it with the GAIN feed and have little to complain about considering it is free.

Adambr,

I’ve tried a handful of packages from java platforms to esignal. I’m very new to MT4 and I’m still learning alot of its features, but so far it has everything I’ve used with other software and a lot more. At this point its pretty safe to say that I will stay with them

Bottom line… for FOREX trading you really can’t go wrong with MT4!

Thanks, I downloaded MT4 and looks fine, has a friendly interface…I’ll check it out deeply!

Just to post here quickly while I am still on holidays (returning mid February).

This matter has appeared many times on this forum and I have made several replies as I can remember.

After studying countless posts on this matter, I have concluded that…

The best forex platform is the one that you like best.

It is that simple.

MT4 is the best platform for a successful forex trading style.
When I first start trading I wasn’t sure about trading with MT4 because it looked very complicated.
But after a while I realize it was easier than other platforms.

I wouldn’t say MT4 is the best, I’d say it is the most popular instead. I’ve come to find other platforms with better and enhanced features than MT4. But as someone said before, the best platform is the one you like best. But in order to find it out I guess you should try some platforms.

Does your broker have to offer MT4, or is it something that you download and use separately?

Ive played with Oanda before and it is alright… best thing about it though is you can change your lot size and leverage without much of a problem.(CHarting isnt that good some people say… I barely used that so I cant confirm/deny)

MetaTrader’s bark is worse then its bite… it really isnt that hard to use and overall is user friendly w/ good selection of Indicators(if that is your style of trade)

Im using Dealbook 360 at the moment… and that is pretty good because its easy to set up charts and indicators.

But really… it just comes down to the one you like the most and fits your style of trading.

Well I guess it’s better if you stick to a broker that has MT4 available. I’m currently using MT4 from Tradeview and it’s been quite good, though you can find different brokers offering different platforms. You could also have charting from a different company than your broker.

I’m on Mac OS X and Ubuntu Linux so for me platform independence is outermost important. Oanda may not be the most advanced charting platform but it’s ok. It’s all about personal preferences and prioritizations.

Hello to all here before, now, and in the future. Choose the broker that allows you to trade your method. Mine is ACM’s. Great functionality and reliability, MAC friendly as well, 4 integrated platforms with one login only. More indicators than any other broker (over 60 I believe) and 1 click execution that will capture the price you selected, with no re-quotes. I have been with them since 2007. One other thing, the ACM platform has Trailing Stops, these work with your comp. off, something the Metatrader is unable to do.

I have to agree with the last post, all that stated I can confirm (except the 60 indicators!). I have no trouble in stating that I have been very, very happy with this broker. And continue to be so.

I’m using Meta Trader, however I plan to use oanda for live trading and they don’t use Meta Trader…

Thus, I don’t if I should use MT for setups and open trades on oanda OR look for a broker that uses MT4, however a lot of people told me that MT4 brokers are not the best…

Any advices?

Cheers.

As many people have said, it depends on your trading method and preferences. I mostly use a scalping method that requires 10 minute candles, which MT4 does not have, so I use GFT to plan my trades, and Oanda to place trades.
