What is the difference between Demo and Real Live trading platform?

I noticed something each time I trade live. It seems some trading platforms are manipulated at the expense of the readers.

I used $3,000.00 in my demo to make a profit of over $26,000 in less than three weeks. But when I invested $200.00 to start rael live Account, I was loosing my
money, the same day, I lost $40. I had to withdraw all my money the balance next day. In the trade, I used lot size of 0.001 trade VIX 75.

What could be responsible for this? Is it that the platform for live is different from that of demo? Or is the platform for live manipulated at the expense of the trader?

Please let someone in the house advise me. Thank you.

If you use a reputable broker that wont happen. Ive never traded VIX 75 though so i couldnt comment on that part

Thank you for your response. Can real live trading platforms be manipulated by brokers in their own favour and against their clients in other to make profit?

YES.

That is, a few of those fly by night brokers that tout their phone apps on Internet. Best to google safe broker reviews - ones which are properly regulated and who segregate client funds from their funds e.g. IC markets and FP markets and Pepperstone.

From my personal experience, demo trading helps beginners understand the live forex market. And live trading requires money management knowledge and skills to earn profits.

Is demo trading platfrom the best to learn about forex market trades than the live trading platform?

So I’ve heard! And one of the ways of doing so is by opening the spreads on their trading platforms, and knocking us out of the positions by hitting the stop losses.

With a regulated broker, you don’t have to worry about the manipulation. The demo accounts are exact replicas of the real account. However, it is possible that they may not reflect all market conditions including liquidity and execution during volatile or illiquid periods.

On a demo account you trade with virtual money whereas on a live account you trade with real money. Demo trading is only for learning purposes while it is possible that a demo account may not show all market conditions.

Thank you for your response and advise. I will work on it

Thanks for your response, I applied all I thought can work for me, but all efforts failed. Anyway, I will try again.

Only if you haven’t registered with certified brokers. Good reputed brokers don’t really manipulate the market. I myself use fxview, ICM, and pepperstone and can ascertain that they don’t use any such practices. Usually this problem arises when you sign up with brokers who entice you through signup bonuses. Believe me, it’s not worth it.

the main difference is execution speed. u might see a better speed in demo as it comes from the demo server. in live account you might see some latency

If you notice a substantial difference between demo and live accounts then I would consider another broker personally.

Brokers usually engage in spread widening mostly when the market is highly volatile. Even if your position is updated, he may not allocate your position at the price it quotes and applies a wider than usual spread.

Certified or not, I think you can keep the broker from imposing a wider spread and earn profit. Even after he does so, you really can’t do anything about it.

Demo account is the exact replication of live account, and all these manipulations that you are facing can be done by the broker, surely. You can talk to them but also be sure that there was not much of a fluctuation on the trading instrument that you were placing trades on.

the platform and trading conditions remain the same but the only thing which changes is the execution
