What time does the first daily candle form?

Morning all,
I’m in need of a little guidance and some clarification.
I know that the markets have their opening and closing times but, separate and apart from that, I’m trying to find out the time that the daily candle forms.
I’m in Jamaica (GMT -5) and I use FXCM as my broker on an MT4 platform. Based on the times that I’m seeing on the candlesticks, it would appear that for all the major pairs, the daily candle opens at 4pm Jamaica time (9pm GMT) and closes at 3:59pm (24 hours) Jamaica time (8:59pm GMT). Am I correct? I could wait and see what happens at 4pm this afternoon but I would love to get some feedback before.

Are these times set by the platform or can they be adjusted?

Daily candles vary from broker to broker, some such as Oanda let you pick the time.
