What would be the cause (if known) for the NZD/USD going suddenly against the trend?

Hey folks,

I had gonne SHORT on the NZD/USD and then at the last 30 minutes of Jan 15th period the price goes suddenly upwards totally against the trend (and against my short order as well  ). I am still learning/beginner (using a Demo Account) and I am really curious about this weird move.

I know the Forex Market is unpredictable, but I’d like to ask:

What would be the cause (if known) for the NZD/USD going suddenly against the trend?

PS: the next period’s PP (16th Jan) that was going to be placed below the current one (15th Jan) turned to be placed just above the 15th Jan PP. Very weird.

Thanks in advanced. Cheers from Brazil.

Likely due to progress in us china trade talks and there was a report that nzd central back were unlikely to cut rates. Enough reason normally for people to take profits and trade short term bullish.

Dont know what PP means.
