In the market for a meat cleaver?

Actually, I can see myself having fun in the kitchen with this cleaver.

I have never used an air fryer, have you? it saves you from using a lot of oil or no oil at all, Doctors recommend Air fryers over deep frying with traditional oil like vegetable oil

No, I haven’t. It always seemed to me like a cheap TV gimmick.

It’s always had a bad impression with me. Perhaps, it’s time I take a serious look at this thing.

I used to think that about the George Foreman grill, I admit I have one but I haven’t used it for a long time.

This week, we’re diving into the world of bamboo rats in Vietnam—a delicacy that can be more expensive than Wagyu beef.

They raise these bamboo rats better than American chickens.

It seems like the host has learned Vietnamese and understands it well. If so, good for him. Learning that language must have been tough.

I was hoping the rats were free-range. Perhaps in the future?

I see no problem eating any animal. Different people do different things. It’s all good.

I have one also. I only use it for sandwiches–like a panini press. It’s a pretty cool machine. However, I would trade it for a panini press, in a heartbeat.

Actually, it looks just like the Foreman grill in the pic you posted. I think the only difference is that the top swivels, pressing evenly across the top.

I’d better go check my eggs!

According to that guy, Pasture Raised is the way to go.

Whereas with free-range eggs, the hens only receive a minimum of 2 square feet of pasture for themselves. That’s a big difference in space! However, for Farmers Hen House, our free-range eggs come from hens that are typically provided around 15 square feet of space. A lot more than 2 square feet, but still a long way off from 108 square feet.

Well, it looks like I’ve been buying free-range eggs. The label says the chickens are not given any probiotics. I’ll see if pasture-raised eggs are available next time. But I’m not sure if I’ve ever seen them.

It makes you wonder what proportion of egg-buyers know the difference between probiotics and anitbiotics, doesn’t it? :joy: :upside_down_face:

Oops, I meant antibiotics. You’re right. Probiotics is for yogurt!

Personally, I prefer smoothies because you can throw the whole fruit/veggie in there. Using the whole fruit increases the fiber intake. I used to have a juicer, but that was long ago–and the clean-up was extensive. Cleaning a blender is much easier.

Which do you prefer, a Personal size blender or just the regular-size blender.

Best Smoothie Blenders 2024 [don’t buy one before watching this]

I like the regular size. My smoothies were never coffee-cup size. My smoothies usually end up being close to one liter because I get carried away every time and keep adding stuff.

So, I gotta have the larger blender. One thing that annoys me about having a cheap blender is that even after leaving it on ¨high¨ for over a minute, there are still a couple chunks of fruit/veggie in there. And even when you try pouring it back into the blender slowly, the blender still misses those chunks. It’s annoying (especially when it’s ginger). I assume higher quality blenders don’t leave chunks like that.

The Blendtec look promising. But, the Ninja and Vitamix look like the answer to my chunky problems.

For me, the ideal blender would be commercial-grade, have a detachable blade, and be quiet.

One thing that MUST be in my smoothie is a banana. My second favourite ingredient is cinnamon. Those two are essential for my smoothies.

I used to use either milk or orange juice until I learned how orange juice was spiking my insulin. Now, I only use milk.

@SmallPaul Do you have any essential smoothie ingredients?
