Which indicators(s) do you use?

Hello dear BP members. I would like to know which indicators do you use and why? What kind of results do you have with these indicators?

Thanks in advance!

:stuck_out_tongue:

2 EMA 5 close High, 5 close Low, TDI, Support & Resitance . These help me to identify trend I’m trading, momentum, cycle support and resistance. Ive been using them about a month with great results and less clutter

I started off with separate Trend, Momentum, Cycle, Support and Resistance indicators As I got more experience I reduced the number of indictors

RSI
Moving Averages
Trend Lines

After trading for what is over five years now, I still have no idea what to make of your charts.

Just for the record I use a 40SMA only.

yeah, it looks kinda crazy, but Im diggin it…

I use no indicators, unless you class candle sticks as a indicator.

Here is my stats from starting with this kitchen full of indicators,

I started this run Thursday morning, so 4 days

Learning something new about this setup every day, and looks to be my final layout.

Wow dude, money, that is really much stuff there.I`m confused how can you even trade in that mess.More indicators doesnt mean that you will have more good trades, but who know, maybe your system is right.

BTW Answering to the OP’s question, i dont use indicators, i don’t believe in them any more.I use the 5th type of analysis of the market, which is mathematical analysis.I don’t believe in fundamentals, technical, sentiment nor quantitative analysis, only in maths which is the 5th type and the only one that works

And by that i mean that i calculate S/R levels and the probabilities of reversals of the prices at those points.Either by looking at the volume or at the average volatility shown also by the ATR indicator, but i have a specially calculated one.I`m able to determine the probabilities of reversals at the key S/R zones. And simply when the probabilities are above 70% i trade, and so far it got me a 60% winrate on trades (with 0.9-1 RR).It is very awesome.

You don’t use indicators but you use the ATR or volume.

Interesting. And quite contradictory.

Just sayin’… :57:

I did not say nothing as you did.I said i use a special modified formula similar to the ATR in conjunction with the volume, which is not an indicator it is only a data which is shown by default MT4.As for the tehnique is only math based, a few formulas crunched together and when the light shows green ,so the percentages are good, it is time to trade.

Your charts sure gave us an eyeball version of what happens daily…nice.
SMA down here…and if required, may pin one or two more…no more.

EMA 20

Reliable for trend trading

All any indicator ever is, is crunched math showing up in some rendition on a chart. Your ATR formula is no different.

Volume is an indicator. Especially tic volume.

me just volume and fib …

Whatever.Depends how you define indicators.I think you can split them in 2 groups, since all are based on a math formula. The first group is the indicators which try to predict price movement, for which im against it, i find this nonsense. The other group is the one that tries to analyze the correlations of events in the market and not tries to predict the price but rather shows only high probability situations which repeat enough for you to consider them a fact. You can call these chart patterns if you want, but im not trading them.

If you say that i trade head and shoulders and stuff like that, you are wrong.I only trade similar things to that but only after identifying the key S/R levels. And not all patterns have them, so not all of them are worthy to trade, and certainly only few of them can reverse the price, and only these are worth trading. You dont want to get yourself in a ranging or consolidation situation just because you didnt checked that the volume or the volatility is suitable for the trade.

Thats only a valuable information digging from the market.Nothing woodoo as the other patterns seem to be.

How can I learn more about your trading system? I am currently learning about price action and I’m becoming good at it, but I would like to build my own system that combines price action (candlesticks + S/R levels) and various indicators, sooooo…please share more info with us! Thanks in advance!

I prefer to use 20 EMA, 200 EMA, Fibos and Pivots in my trading
