Which is the best period time fot ADX and ATR indicators on 1 and 5 min charts?
And the ADX is more accurate at this timeframe if it looks at close prices or median prices?
Hey Proximus, I would say your scalping??, so use the at ADX-2 and ATR 1, but I think ATR is virtually useless…
ADX is good for finding the fall off of the move…
Yep you’re right i also saw that ATR is not that accurate.I`m following the trend and volatility doesnt matter here.

It really depends what your trading expectations are really.
How many pips are you trying to get per trade?
I like ADX-2 if Im scalping… We see it gain momentum, then we know the price is moving continuous for a short time, then when it drops from 100, I like to take profit… ( I only use the main signal, not the red/green lines. )
I never really looked at adx-12… But from now looking at it, i suppose its not bad for directional reason, hummmm, then use the adx-2 to take profit… Adx is something that needs adjusted to your goals, ( pip amount per trade)

I`m using the ADX to make and EA tradebot not manual trade, the bot cannot see the difference between trend strength or direction whats why i need actual numbers.I checked on google,people say its good between 12-15 on 1-5 min charts what do you think,can my ea work well with this settings?
OK, in this case, atr is good to use, so the EA wont enter on a big candle… and again, ADX if you use to trigger the EA would be with a threshold of < 60 or something, or adx 0 > adx 1 …
you just have to mess with it, and find the right adjustments to adapt to the price action…
take notes on the settings, and just keep adjusting till you find the sweet spot…
